As a child I loved to play and create things on my own from Playdough and the EZ Bake Oven to paintings and scrapbooks. I remember cutting up old t-shirts and trying to turn them into new items and adding gourmet ingredients to Kraft mac ‘n’ cheese. My creations didn’t always turn out beautiful or delicious but I loved the process just the same.

I went on to work in the culinary and hospitality industry as a cook, hostess, server and manager. I’ve also worked as a tutor and case worker along the way. The common thread that ties all these jobs together, and motivates me as a designer, is my passion for creating memorable experiences for people.

UX design allows me to apply and build on my various skills while doing what I love: creating functional and beautiful products. As a researcher and developer I am able to utilize my analytical side. Life is a culmination of experiences. Whether those are events, outings or trying out a new app, everyone deserves to feel satisfied and positive about them.
